GENERAL QUESTIONS
- 1HOW MUCH DOES IT COST, AND WHEN ARE CLASSES?
We have a free martial arts in Kansas City guide here that shows our costs and schedule, everyone else’s in the area, and shows you exactly how to choose an adult or youth training program. Use the big button at the bottom of this page to get it. Save yourself time and money and get the information you need today! - 2HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT TAKE TO LEARN BASIC SELF-DEFENSE?
Basic self-defense techniques can be learned in a few days to a few weeks. The conditioning and mindset it takes to effectively use these techniques can be developed in a few months. You will see progress in yourself or your child in the first few sessions. - 3HOW MANY DAYS PER WEEK SHOULD A STUDENT TRAIN?
For adults and kids, we recommend training two days per week. Some students are able to train more often, but good progress can be made training only two days per week - and it fits really well into most families’ schedules! - 4DO YOU REQUIRE CONTRACTS OR LONG-TERM TRAINING COMMITMENTS?
We do not require long-term training commitments or contracts, but do provide discounts and incentives for individuals who want to set goals to attain youth martial arts rank or adult Krav Maga certification. We are not a belt factory. As a quality measure, we want to train our students to a level of proficiency, but will not ask for a commitment beyond what an individual’s goals or schedule allow for. - 5WHAT STYLES OR SYSTEMS DO YOU TEACH AT YOUR SCHOOL?
The center of our programs is Israeli Krav Maga - Hebrew for Contact Combat. Krav Maga is known as the fastest way to learn self-defense, and is used by more than 500 military and law enforcement groups for this reason. - 6WHAT ABOUT MIXED MARTIAL ARTS AND WEAPONS?
We live in a mixed martial arts and mixed weapons world. Our students should have no limits in terms of understanding different ranges, striking, grappling, and common weapons systems. We are the only program in Kansas City to offer breadth AND depth in this regard. We also teach: Submission Grappling (No Gi) - Basics of submission grappling from Jiu Jitsu as well as Western catch wrestling. Boxing/Kickboxing - The best striking for self-defense as well as sport applications. Modern Weapons - Knife, Stick, and Gun (Stick only for youth programs) - 7HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Everyone starts the same way. We have a low-cost, low commitment trial program that includes everything needed to fully participate. We guide you step-by-step through this process, include many extras, and you could buy, schedule, and confirm your first class with us today!
